Chiron Super Sport joins the Chiron family as direct counterpart to the Pur Sport’s dedicated focus on cornering speeds and lateral agility. Instead, it gently moulds the Chiron’s extraordinary package further into the grand touring, combining top speed with ultimate comfort and luxury. Every panel of the Super Sport has been optimised to help it achieve its 273mph, including a ‘long-tail’ which sees length grow by 25cm over the Chiron, a new vertical stack exhaust set-up and nine exhaust holes just above the front wheels. All of this – and much more – creates a shape a car that is blessed with both stability and aerodynamic efficiency.
The Chiron’s state-of-the-art 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 has been thoroughly overhauled in the Chiron Super Sport, with engineers liberating a further 100hp to take the total to 1600hp. Weight has been cut by 23kg, and every part of the powertrain has been optimised. As a result, 0-124mph takes just 5.8 seconds. Above all, where Chiron Pur Sport was designed for optimum engagement and cornering thrill, Super Sport is built for astonishing speed with absolute calm and comfort. The chassis and steering have been tweaked to provide the driver with a quiet cabin, tight steering and unwavering directional stability – even as it cruises past 250mph.
